I had very sadly given up on the game because of the latency and hadn't played it for months since moving to Windows 10, but this fixed it.

But it seems the drivers got optimized somehow, i can still run RS with Latency Buffer 2, but further testing is needed, how is it for other users? You're an absolute champion rome0knight! Thank you for posting this.

ini settings are the same as mine, except i'm using MaxOutputBufferSize=0.ġ44 is way too low, please change it to 0 which is the default value.Įdit: Nevermind, i've read your posts again and just understood that it is indeed working for you with 144 sorryįor ultra-low latency in Windows 10 follow these instructions:Įdit : with today's Windows 10 upgrade build 10586, Microsoft installs the Realtek driver again (no matter if you stopped automatic driver updates before). UseProxy=1 No need to go back to Windows 7! Microsoft updated their drivers to 6.0 recently, please check in device manager again, remove everything from Realtek! Thanks rcole_soone but I got it working, just like rome0knight said, after the windows 10586 update the game worked with all settings set up as it should with realtek 6. Any ideas where I could look to next?Įdited to add: I've also tried disabling one screen of my two screen setup, and I am running a single graphics card, not any sort of SLI or Crossfire. I've been through the usual 'validate local files' checks with steam and tried killing rocksmith.ini, I've also confirmed most recent drivers for these system components. OS: Windows 10 Pro (圆4), November update. This system ran Rocksmith 2040 fine before this reinstall. I've recently done a ground-up clean reinstall of my PC, using the November update of Windows 10, and the latest win10 drivers from Asus for the motherboard, the latest AMD Crimson drivers for graphics and latest win10 Sound drivers for the Soundblaster Z in my system, and every time I boot I get rocksmith open to a black screen with mouse cursor, try to change resolution a couple of times, then crash silently with no error messages or crash logs. But it seems the drivers got optimized somehow, i can still run RS with Latency Buffer 2, but further testing is needed, how is it for other users? You should be able to set latency to 2 again after these steps, hope this helps.Įdit : with today's Windows 10 upgrade build 10586, Microsoft installs the Realtek driver again (no matter if you stopped automatic driver updates before).

Uninstall all Realtek Soundcard Drivers.Ģ. For ultra-low latency in Windows 10 follow these instructions:ġ. Obviously a latency of 4 is unacceptable so I need to find out how to fix this. Audio is straight over the onboard sound card, set at 16bit 48Khz with processing disabled (all the same as before the Windows 10 upgrade). Since the upgrade I've had to set the latency to 4 to get it to work properly else the audio is slow and robotic. I had the latency at 2 before with everything else normal. I hope this can help you, other than that you will need to contact the manufacturer for support.Since upgrading to Windows 10 (from 7), I can't get the game to work well.
